TVB announces the new arrangements for its digital channels effective from 3 a.m. on Monday, 22 February,
providing enhanced television services to viewers in Hong Kong.
Simulcast arrangement on “Jade” & “HD Jade” ceased
Beginning 22 February, simulcast arrangement on channels 81 “Jade” and 85 “HD Jade” will cease. Popular prime time programmes, including drama series, will only be available on channel 81 “Jade” from then onwards. Also, channel 81 “Jade” will offer enhanced high definition picture quality.
Rearrangement of broadcast signal of “Pearl”
At 3 a.m. on 22 February, broadcast signal of channel 84 “Pearl” will be rearranged. To watch channel 84 “Pearl”, viewers must rescan the digital channels after 3 a.m. on 22 February, whether they are using integrated digital TV sets (iDTVs) or set-top boxes.

“HD Jade” renamed as “J5”
Channel 85 “HD Jade” will be renamed “J5” and become a brand new channel focusing on wealth and knowledge. It will broadcast self-produced finance information programmes as well as acquired documentaries, drama series, movies and variety programmes.
The arrangement of other digital channels, i.e. channel 82 “J2” and 83 “iNews”, remains unchanged. Analogue TV channels Jade and Pearl will not be affected.
